SLOOSH KIDSCARE is an Accredited Active After School/Before School, Vacation Care Service. We operate 50 weeks of the year and we are a not for profit incorporated association. We are situated at the Michael Wenden Aquatic Leisure Centre in Miller, 2168.

SLOOSH has been in operation for almost 9 years and over this time we have provided a safe, fun, sustainable and inclusive learning environment for the children of the Liverpool Community with our various programs that have been partially funded with successful Club Grant submissions. Last year we finally were able to renovate our outdoor area. It has made the world of difference to be able to deliver experiences that we struggled to in the past due to the restrictions and layout of the area..
The upgrade made a valuable contribution to the overall structure of the Michael Wenden centre which benefits businesses, groups, families and residents within the 2168 community.

Services we currently provide within our program include: -

# Programs for children aged 4years to 17yrs

# Transport service to and from school and cater for 12 schools within the Liverpool area. A home pick up and drop off service is also available for illegible families at an affordable cost

# 6.30 am start for Before School Care for the early working parents

# 6.30 pm Closing time for the late working parents

# 7am-6pm-11hr vacation care days for the working parent or the parent that would like their child to be involved in social environment and partake in experiences and outings at an affordable cost.

# Indoor and Outdoor play area with a variety of resources/materials/games/experiences/activities and technology for the children/staff and families to assess and partake

#SLOOSH Kids Council where the children have regular valuable input into the daily routines and programs.

# Sport coaches who deliver our funded sport program M.O.B-Move Our Body

# Access to our Funded Let Me Speak Program working in collaboration with the Jade Wellness Centre and our 12 schools that we currently service within the LGA. We have Speech Therapist, OT Specialists, Early Childhood Teachers, Associate Diplomas, Certificate 4 in OOSH, Psychologists, Trainees, Fitness Instructors, UNI Students to deliver services that have been identified as a need all under the one umbrella here at SLOOSH. We have been running this program on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays for the past 4.5 years and our waiting list is expanding. We will be extending our hours if we are successful with our Club Grant Submissions 2019 and will be ongoing whilst the need is there.

# Incursions and Excursions-planned by our qualified and experienced SLOOSH Staff based on surveys, observations and reflection/evaluations of past experiences

Each year we choose two fundraising/community events to plan and deliver to raise funds for various charities/community groups. Our relationships with various organisations continue to grow and we have delivered 3 events in the past 9mths working in collaboration with PCYC Liverpool, Hoxton Park Primary School and Camp Quality. Footy Colours Day raising much needed funds for the Fight Cancer Foundation, Time4Kids PCYC annual fundraiser and GO4Gold Kye Campaign raising funds for Camp Quality and awareness for childhood cancer.
Recently SLOOSH families sponsored one of our children by running a Cadbury Chocolate fundraiser to get him to the Australian Gymnastic Championships in Melbourne as the youngest member on the NSW State Team. Go4Gold Kye Campaign is based on 9yr old Kye using his skills at trampoline, going for gold, to raise awareness for his 11year old brother Noah whom is battling an ultra-rare form of liver cancer called Fibrolamellar Hepatocellular Carcinoma. Noah also attends SLOOSH. Kye won a Bronze medal in Synchronised trampoline L5 U13yrs and won gold in Individual trampoline L5 U13yrs making kye National Champion. The support from the SLOOSH families and children made it possible for one of our own SLOOSHIES to follow his dreams.

#This year we have submitted 6 submissions for the Clubs Grant Scheme and if successful the children and families will benefit immensely with these initiatives the staff, children and families from SLOOSH have planned. Hopefully next years submission for the Local Business awards we will be able to share those visions, becoming a reality, with you all.

#SLOOSH also continues to spread awareness for missing child William Tyrrell and we will never give up till the day he is found. William's Birthday and anniversary of his disappearance are implemented on our planning calendars. We also have regular visits from our Local Police and Fire Brigade and discuss important topics such as stranger danger, bullying and general safety precautions.
