At our Lifeline retail store in Pennant Hills you find current trend of clothing for both man and woman, the store sells jewellery furniture, homewares, Manchester, art, old wares, anything quirky and unusual that comes our way via customer donations.
Our aims are to serve and meet our customers needs, to provide an experience through our carefully selected stock, and of course to raise money for Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury so they may continue to provide crisis support and suicide prevention services in our Communities.
The role is to primarily sell donated goods to raise funds for Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury's vital services, but there is so much more to it than that - from administration to people management, to sorting and preparing items for sale, and styling, as well as creating a place where people are welcomed and enjoy looking around. The team work hard to make the store the best it can be.
'The shop has to be inviting and exciting - ambiance and atmosphere is everything. And we want to change people's perception of what an op shop is all about - you want people to be as passionate about the cause as we are.'
The store has become very close to my heart. 'I am passionate about what I do. My vision is to promote Lifeline in the best way that I know how - by walking the talk. This means donating items I no longer use to the shop, wearing donated clothing, and encouraging recycling.
'I love what I do for Lifeline. When I wake up in the morning, I look forward to my day - whatever it may be.'
I admits I couldn't do it alone - 'it takes a team of people with different strengths, great attitude and dedication, and who all believe in what Lifeline stands for, to bring it all together. I am so grateful and humbled by our volunteers, and the gift of their time and expertise.'...
